We’re recruiting a new Treasurer & Trustees!
If you’re passionate about RUSS, and have ideas and ambition you’d like to bring to our organisation, we are inviting applications to the Board, which includes a Treasurer position and several Trustee roles.
The Treasurer position is opening up as, after two dedicated terms, Phil Morris will be standing down at our next AGM. We’re also looking to expand our board by bringing in up to four new trustees, as we enter into a new exciting phase, requiring new skills and energy.
Big tasks ahead include our goal of restoring the Ladywell Playtower into a vibrant community hub featuring a nursery, youth spaces, social enterprise workspaces, and permanently affordable housing. We are also embarking on the process of becoming a social landlord, so that we can manage the social housing at 12 Church Grove and potential future sites.
What are we looking for in a Treasurer?
We are seeking someone with experience in finance, accounting, and/or housing management. They will play a pivotal role in ensuring our long-term stability and impact.
Key responsibilities will include maintaining our financial resilience, managing social investment debt, and protecting the permanent affordability of 12 Church Grove.
Time commitment is approximately two days per month, though there will be occasional busier periods, such as around annual audits, that will be a bit more hands-on.
Who are we looking for as Trustees?
We are also looking to invite in new Trustees who bring a range of skills that would help us during our next phase, these include housing management, heritage projects,
fundraising, law, marketing and stakeholder engagement in Lewisham or beyond. If these don’t quite align with you, but you are passionate about community-led housing and local regeneration, this is equally brilliant.
Time commitment for trustees is approximately 1.5 days per month. Board meetings are held every six weeks.
