We are pleased to invite you to the RUSS AGM for 2026!  

Date, time: Saturday 27 June 2026, 2:30pm – 4:30pm followed by playground launch from 5:00pm  

Venue: RUSS Community Hub, 12 Church Grove, London SE13 7UU  

This year’s meeting comes at an exciting time of transition and growth for RUSS.

  • Refreshments: Tea and coffee will be provided.  
  • Access: The Community Hub has ground-level access. Visitors with specific accessibility requirements are encouraged to contact joel@theruss.org ahead of time.  
  • Parking: Please note that there is no parking available on Church Grove.  

AGENDA  

AGM business: 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm  

1. Welcome by Joel Simpson, Vice-Chair of the Board   

2. Special Resolution to adopt a new Rule Book which must be approved by at least three-quarters of the votes.  

3. Audited accounts and auditors  

4. Propose and vote on an adjournment of this AGM to receive the audited accounts for 2025 at a later date [to be agreed by a majority vote]  

5. Farewell to our Treasurer, Phil Morris  

[Phil will be staying on as voluntary Society Secretary but that appointment is decided by the trustees at a board meeting and doesn’t need to be brought to the members.]  

6. Trustee appointments – see biographies here  

The current Rule Book states that at every annual general meeting, not less than one quarter of the elected board members shall retire from office. There are currently 7 elected board members (co-optees are not counted). At this AGM Phil Mitchell is retiring having completed 6 years’ continuous service and Jon Broome is retiring and standing for re-election.   

All appointments are nominated by Ed and seconded by Joel.  

  • Jon Broome is standing down and standing for re-election  
  • Annie Sheng is standing for election after having been co-opted to the board in April 2026  
  • Alex Crane is standing for election [maybe co-opted June board]

  • Board skills audit and recruitment drive  
  • The Ladywell Playtower bid

Playground launch: 5:00 pm onwards
